Enrich Contacts with Partner Autocomplete

Automatically enrich your contact database with company data using Odoo Partner Autocomplete.

Partner Autocomplete allows you to automatically enrich your contact database with accurate and up-to-date corporate data. When creating a new contact, simply enter a company name in the Customer field (partner_id), and select a suggested result to instantly populate company details.

This feature helps you save time and access valuable business information that is otherwise difficult to collect manually.

Key Benefits

Using Partner Autocomplete, you can automatically retrieve:

  • Phone number

  • Tax ID (VAT)

  • Full address

  • Industry classification (UNSPSC tags)

Important Notes

  • A company must not already exist in the Contacts module before using autocomplete enrichment.

  • The feature is designed for company-level data only. Individual contact data cannot be searched.

Odoo limits access to personal data and only provides publicly available corporate information through this feature.

Configuration

To enable Partner Autocomplete:

  1. Go to Settings → Contacts

  2. Locate Partner Autocomplete

  3. Enable the feature by checking the box

  4. Click Save

How It Works

When creating a new contact in any module:

  1. Start typing a company name in the Customer field

  2. A dropdown list of suggested companies will appear

  3. Select the correct company

  4. Odoo will automatically fill in the available company data

Tip

You can also use a VAT number instead of a company name to find and enrich a contact more accurately.

Pricing

Partner Autocomplete is an In-App Purchase (IAP) feature that uses a credit system:

  • Each data enrichment request consumes 1 credit

  • Credits must be purchased in advance

How to Buy Credits

  1. Go to Settings → Contacts

  2. Find Partner Autocomplete

  3. Click Buy Credits

Alternatively:

  • Go to Odoo IAP → View My Services

  • Select a credit package

What Happens When Credits Run Out?

If your database has no remaining credits:

  • Only limited data will be available

  • Typically includes:

    • Company logo

    • Website link

If you are using Odoo Enterprise with a valid subscription, you receive free trial credits to test IAP features.
